MapTiler supports direct upload to the cloud services Amazon S3 and Google Storage. When running from a web server, it provides map services in TileJSON, WMTS and XYZ protocols. Default viewer supports displaying the map in Leaflet, OpenLayers, WebGL Earth or MapBoxJS. Final maps can be presented using API or stand-alone slippy map on a website. The output can be used as an image overlay on Google Maps or Google Earth. Īs an output, there is a support for MBTiles, GeoPackage and folder with HTML and JavaScript files, which can run from any web server.
In the last step before rendering, user select number of zoom levels for the output map. It is also possible to render an image into tiles without setting coordinate system and geolocation, which can be used for presenting very detailed scans of paintings on the web. Geolocation can be done visually by selecting at least three referencing points on the image and in the map, loaded from an external file or defined by latitude and longitude. There is a large number of supported geographic coordinate systems including national coordinate systems or users can load their own systems.
